We’re Armando and Maria Llanes, a husband and wife duo with a passion for food, family, and faith. What started as a shared love for gathering around the table has grown into a business devoted to creating unforgettable bites and meaningful moments that bring people together.
Our Story
Salt and Light Exquisite Bites is a Katy, Texas-based catering company specializing in elegant hors d’oeuvres, artfully designed grazing tables, and our signature bottomless charcuterie cart for unforgettable events. Rooted in Matthew 5:13–16, we create meaningful culinary experiences that combine exquisite flavor with heartfelt hospitality. Our mission is to serve others through beautifully crafted food that brings people together, one exquisite bite at a time.

Our story began when Chef Mando transitioned from military service to the culinary world. After proudly serving in the U.S. Army, he followed his passion for cooking and enrolled at the Culinary Institute Lenotre in Houston, Texas, where he earned two degrees, one in Culinary Arts and another in Hospitality Management.

A few years later, Maria—Chef Mando’s wife—realized she shared that same passion for hospitality, food presentation, and thoughtful details. Together, they created Salt and Light, a catering company rooted in faith, family, and celebration. Today, they work side by side to craft beautifully curated food experiences with heart and purpose.
